Tradition Wealth Management is heading into the second half of 2018 as busy as ever. Since the last newsletter in January, we’ve added four new members to our team, bringing us to 20 employees. Welcome Office Manager – Kelly Huegel, Financial Advisor – Eric Peyton, and Data Integration Specialists – Alex Wynne and Cory Carlson. We currently have branch offices in Edina, St. Paul and Woodbury and are looking to expand to more locations later this year. The sports management division, led by former professional hockey player, Jake Taylor, was launched earlier this year to help navigate the complexities of life as a professional athlete. We’re excited about the traction we’ve made with this new division and look forward to its continued growth.
MID-YEAR FINANCIAL CHECK-UP
On these summer days, you are probably thinking about what lake or beach to go to, spending time on your favorite golf courses, or planning a road trip with your family. Although life may be slower and less cluttered, summer is a great time to sit down and do a mid-year financial check-up.
TAXES
On December 22, 2017, President Trump signed into law the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, a sweeping $1.5 trillion tax-cut package that fundamentally changes the individual and business tax landscape. Now may be a good time to see how the new tax laws will impact your 2018 tax return.
RETIREMENT CONTRIBUTIONS
Small increases to your 401K and/or IRA accounts make a big difference over time. Make it a goal to increase your savings each year.
ESTATE PLANNING
Thinking about a will, health care directive or power of attorney can be an uncomfortable topic. If you don’t have these key documents, take the time to set them up. If you already have these set up, take time to review the details, as well as your beneficiary elections.
LIFE INSURANCE
It is wise to evaluate your insurance needs annually to make sure you have the right amount and type of insurance.
