Wrapping up a busy 2017! In 2017, Enebak Construction Co. moved approximately 7 million cubic yards of dirt as well as installing nearly 90,000 lineal feet of underground utilities on projects across the entire Twin Cities metro area. The work varied from residential and commercial site development to mining sand and gravel.
ECC completed multiple projects in 2017 such as: Harvest Phase 2 in Chaska, Tributary on Foster Lake in St. Michael & Spirit of Brandtjen Farm 18th Addition in Lakeville. A few other projects from 2017 include:
TRILLIUM COVE | Prior Lake, MN
ECC developed this 70+ acre site on the north side of Lower Prior Lake into a housing development containing 142 Single-Family lots & 65 Multi-Family units. The site grading started on June 14th with the utilities starting on August 31st. Grading and utility crews worked together to increase production and efficiency in order to get the streets in and paved by the Fall deadline.
FAIRMOUNT SANTROL FRAC SAND MINING | Jordan, MN
ECC helped the owner re-open the mine after being shut down for several years. Mining work varied from clearing trees to stripping new mining areas to hauling sand and rock to the plant. The site faces some challenges with bedrock at various depths, which leads to weekly blasting. After blasting, ECC hauls the blasted material to the plant to be sorted through. ECC will continue working on-site to supply the plant with material throughout the winter.
2018 will have some projects that will carryover from the Fall of 2017 including Highcroft in Woodbury. Some new projects are already on the books for 2018 while more keep coming through the door to be bid. Enebak Construction Co. is looking forward to 2018 and another busy, successful year ahead.
In 2017, Tradition Capital Bank continued to be a partner in business and in life; building dreams and futures on one simple idea: strong one-on-one relationships with clients and strategic partners. Developing these relationships and connecting the dots between our clients, strategic partners, and team members has been our formula for success and contributed greatly to our growth. This growth has given us the opportunity to expand our ability to serve clients across the Twin Cities with our Loan and Deposit Production Office in North Oaks which is expected to open as a full-service branch in early 2018.
Our growth also gives us the opportunity to optimize how we give back – one of our core values. Our Keystone Community Giving Program is how we rally our employees, clients, and partners around organizations doing great things in our communities. We want to go beyond writing a check to contribute our time, talents, and financial resources to improve the communities in which we live and work. We have continued our efforts and we are still on track to achieve the “20/10” vision – earning 20 percent return on equity after contributing 10 percent of our net income to charitable endeavors. Through Keystone, we have encouraged more than 130 non-profit organizations and invested more than $500,000 into their work to make our communities a great place to live, work, and do business.
We look forward to hearing more about where and why you give back and finding ways to encourage each other.
In the Fall of 2017, Tradition Development released the final two additions in our Twenty-One Oaks development in Woodbury, MN. These final 30 lots will now complete the 130 lot development of the property that was started in late 2015.
As one of the East metro’s newest communities, the 55 acre property has been designed as a sanctuary to accommodate your home, exactly how you want it. Located at the crossroads of three major interstates: 94, 494, and 694, Twenty-One Oaks is just minutes from Minneapolis, St. Paul and the entire metro area. The community is also just a short walk to the new East Ridge High School in the South Washington County School District (ISD 833).
Twenty-One Oaks is exclusive to five experienced Minnesota home builders building both single family homes and villas. With these builders, Twenty-One Oaks becomes one of the only neighborhoods in Woodbury that provides custom local builder opportunities.
The community offers many amenities to its residents that includes spacious custom home sites, sidewalks, walking paths, community parks, and neighborhood events. The walking paths in the neighborhood are also connected to the regional Woodbury trail system which is great for exploring the city.
The Twenty-One Oaks Clubhouse offers residents a place to rent for parties/gatherings or they can just spend their summer by the pool and use its large gathering room and lounge. In October, Tradition Development and the builders hosted a Fall Fest for both residents and builder prospects to tour models from all five builders, decorate pumpkins, enjoy the outdoors with yard games and a local food truck, and get to know their neighbors.
South of the river, just a few miles out of the hustle and bustle of downtown Minneapolis, you’ll find the newly developed Reverence neighborhood. Located on the edge of Lakeville and Prior Lake, Reverence offers 23 of the Twin Cities’ most premier acreage lots. Lots were released in the Fall with the Parade of Homes℠ and has quickly piqued the interest of multiple high-end buyers.
Reverence is a true oasis for private living with a home and property customized to your vision. Lots are exclusive to Homes by Tradition and range in size from 2.5-5.88 acres with a variety of wooded, wetland, lake, and golf course views. With a $1M package minimum requirement, Reverence is Lakeville’s newest luxury home community. Take a walk on the trails and paths throughout the neighborhood complete with robust landscaping and carefully planned open spaces. Located in the Lakeville South school district (ISD 194) and conveniently located in close proximity to shopping, grocery, recreation and entertainment amenities.
Our new model in Reverence is an absolute must-see! Nestled on a beautiful 2.6-acre property near the entrance of the neighborhood, this custom home is a perfect balance of comfort and sophistication with a design that will leave you inspired. Modern-meets-traditional-meets -glam is this home’s aesthetic; with buttery wire brushed white oak flooring, white trim and walls, bold trim profiles, combined with a subdued color palette and dramatic contrasts of black throughout.

ANOTHER SOLID YEAR
Tradition Mortgage is grateful for another strong year of business in 2017, fueled in part by strong relationships with Education Minnesota, Minneapolis Police Federation, Plymouth Police Department, and many, many other strong business partners. Thus far in 2017, TM has closed over 2,000 transactions for over $500,000,000 to help clients build, buy, and refinance their existing loans.
Tradition Mortgage is excited to continue its growth and high levels of customer satisfaction as we invest in new technologies and products to best serve our clients and business partners. Throughout a busy and growing year, we have maintained our industry leading levels of customer service with clients rating Tradition better than a “9” out of a possible “10” for customer service satisfaction. On a technology note, we are incredibly excited to now offer a mobile phone app to help our clients, referral partners, and Loan Officers get business done on the go.
Our company continues to grow as we now have over 65 employees with offices in Edina, Lakeville, Plymouth, Woodbury, Saint Paul, Fergus Falls, Brainerd, Aitkin, and River Falls, WI. Our footprint is continuing to grow in 2018 as we will expand our lending efforts in Ohio with a new office in Bowling Green staffed by longtime TM Loan Officer Erika Eigner.
A LITTLE COMPETITION
Work hard, play hard is our motto, and we do it well. One big highlight is the annual Tradition Pond hockey game, with nearly 40 participants entirely from the various Tradition Companies and hosted at the historic Braemer Arena in Edina . The event lived up to its billing, with many close games and more than a few altercations. Despite competing against rosters with more than a few former professional hockey players, Team All-MIAC took the cup for the third year in a row, again proving that MIAC graduates are not only great students, but also elite athletes.
One other fun note was the annual Halloween costume contest held between companies at the Tradition World Headquarters in Lakeville. Despite some great costumes by the competition, the prize went to the Lakeville Tradition Mortgage operations staff for their Scooby Doo ensemble.
Robert Thomas Homes is proud to announce that we have earned a record breaking 6 Reggie Awards℠ from the Builders Association of the Twin Cities (BATC) for homes that were in the 2017 Fall Parade of Homes℠. Robert Thomas Homes’ models were 6 of just 19 homes to win the coveted Reggie Award℠ at BATC’s Building Industry Gala (BIG) Night held on October 26, 2017, at the Mystic Lake Showroom in Prior Lake.
Each home entered is judged by a panel of other builders and industry professionals that view the houses during the Parade of Homes℠. The criteria for the Reggie Awards℠ are based on a series of categories including design, construction quality, and value of the home.
We are so proud to earn this honor. It’s a perfect reward for our team and all of the talented people who put their heart and soul into making our homes truly special. Not only are we honored to have won, but tremendously thankful for the support and dedication of our trade partners.
2017 has been an incredible year for Robert Thomas Homes. This year our team has grown to 42 team members, we are located in seven communities across the Twin Cities, and we have exceeded our goal of 164 home sales by selling approx. 190 homes. In 2018, we are excited to be building in three new communities; Creekside Hills in Plymouth, Enclave at Elm Creek in Plymouth, and Highcroft of Woodbury. We thank all our team members, subcontractors, and homeowners for helping us meet our goals, and look forward to what 2018 will bring.
Wow does time fly by quickly! Since I wrote the last newsletter, Tradition Wealth Management has grown to almost $700 million assets under management along with 15 of the finest employees in the industry. On Valentine’s Day 2018, the company will turn 15 years old. Several local and national award recognitions have been presented to our advisors; our diligent efforts in constructing investment portfolios and the implementation of full balance sheet planning have earned us a great reputation in the industry. The company goes above and beyond to serve our client base and helps administer the full financial planning needs of those who hire us. We have been staying extremely busy with the investment markets, insurance reviews, business succession planning, retirement planning, college planning, the 401k market, and other investment needs. Everyone in the company has the get-it-done attitude and truly cares about all of our clients. In order to stay on top of the market and industry changes, we have recently hired a Director of Investments and Financial Planning along with a Chief Compliance Officer.
Additionally, we have launched a division for sports management to help advise the professional athlete market. The energy surrounding the staff is at an all-time high. We currently station advisors in Edina, North Oaks, Saint Paul, and Woodbury, and are looking to branch out to other locations in Minnesota – hopefully some warmer climates, too! We are also seeking highly qualified advisors to help grow TWM into the future. We will continue to work hard and help out the community in any way. I want to thank our clients for their loyalty, our referral sources for continuing to think of us, and our staff members for their dedication.

In October of 2017, Legends Club took the first steps to becoming weather independent. They installed two new, state of the art golf simulators! The new Simulator Center is currently sharing space in the Banquet Room, and is open weekdays from 10am to10pm, and weekends from 9am to 10pm. The simulators can be used at a cost of $35 per hour.
The systems from HDGolf simulate the experience of playing golf indoors by hitting balls against a 10 ft. x 13 ft. wide screen. The system incorporates a revolutionary, proprietary software and computer vision technology. By combining high-resolution imagery with geophysical and satellite data, the result is a high-definition 3D photo realistic reproduction that is crystal clear and faithfully reproduced, you’ll swear that you are standing on the actual golf course. With multiple cameras, HD Golf also has the industry’s most advanced tracking technology that measures all critical club and ball data precisely, creating a true reproduction of your ball’s flight. Legends Club also boasts the only Sony Laser 5000 3 LCD Projector system in the Twin Cities! This truly is the ultimate indoor golf experience.
“We anticipate that the ability to open up opportunities for our guests to come to the Club during the ‘off-season’ for the golf course should be a bonus to the bottom line.” says General Manager, Mike Luckraft. “We are looking to see an increase in revenue, not only with the simulator income, but also in the Bar & Restaurant with increased food & beverage sales; the Pro Shop with hardgoods sales by having the ability to do clubfitting and teach lessons year-round; and in Events & Banquets by offering a unique experience to meetings, parties and events.” continues Luckraft. Samantha Smeester, Legends Club Event & Banquet Manager adds, “There has been a huge interest in having the simulators available for holiday parties and meetings ever since we announced they were available. The new addition enhances a typical party. Guests are intrigued by the excitement and are enthused to get out of their seats to play and compete.”
Legends Club has 36 world famous golf courses to play; like Pebble Beach and the Old Course at St. Andrews; as well as a number of other golf games like closest to the pin and long drive contests, glass breaking, etc. There is a Simulator League starting in January where one 2 person team plays a weekly match against another team for prizes. They will play a different golf course each week – the same course being played that week on the PGA Tour! One of the simulators has Laser Shot capability. Laser Shot is a firearms simulation that SWAT teams and the military use for training. There is a laser shotgun for sporting clays and duck hunting, as well as two handguns (Glock 17 and Colt 1911) for competition target shooting and close quarters situations.
These new simulators will allow Legends Club to give guests the golfing (and firearms) experience no matter what the weather is doing outside this winter! The simulators are planned to be operational from November through April.
Esquire Title has continued its past success with another very solid year in 2017. Through November, Esquire has closed over 1,140 transactions, including purchases, refinances, duals, junior loans and sell sides, and is on track to close up to 100 in the month of December. Esquire has worked closely with Tradition Mortgage, Tradition Capital Bank, Robert Thomas Homes, Homes by Tradition and has built strong relationships with other lenders, credit unions, real estate agents and individuals.
Esquire’s corporate office has been located in Woodbury since November 2015 and has maintained their “spot” in Lakeville. In January 2017, Esquire proudly opened up the first official closing office in Edina in the Centennial Lakes office building alongside the other Tradition Entities of Tradition Mortgage, Tradition Capital Bank, and Tradition Wealth Management. In October, Esquire upgraded its Edina office space from the 3rd to the 5th floor, offering additional space to allow for growth.
Tradition Pass It On is a movement created by Tradition Companies that helps fund a wide variety of community initiatives in Edina, MN. Since one of the main Tradition Companies offices is in Edina, their work gives back to the local community by staying connected with clients and providing people with an opportunity to get involved.
In 2017, there were quite a few highlights. Tradition has sponsored some fun, unique events, as well as volunteering their time to help promote these initiatives.
Art of Edina is one initiative we work with that is aimed to give local Edina artists a public space to display their art. The most recent art installation is being displayed inside Southdale Mall. Over 150 paper lanterns were installed as part of the Shine On Project in November that were created by the 4th and 5th grade classes at Our Lady of Grace Catholic School. The 3 month installation focusses on joy and light around the world. This is a collaborative project with the Minneapolis-based American Refugee Committee (ARC). Tradition Companies has donated one solar-powered headlamp in the honor of each OLG student that has a lantern displayed! The headlamps are being sent to the refugee settlement in Uganda and given to a person who does not have electricity in their home.
Other Art of Edina installations can be found at Braemar Arena and the Galleria in Edina.
2017 HOUSE THAT HOPE BUILT
You may have heard over the past few months, the excitement surrounding “The House That Hope Built”. In case you haven’t heard, Tradition Companies enlisted the help of Robert Thomas Homes and many of their trade and business partners to construct our second “Hope House”. The goal for the House that Hope Built is to donate the net proceeds from the sale of the home to HopeKids Minnesota, a local nonprofit organization that provides unique support for children with life threatening illnesses and their families.
The house sold during the Fall Parade of Homes℠. Joined by many of our trade and business partners who contributed materials, labor and cash donations to the project, Tradition Companies was able to present HopeKids Minnesota with a $400,000 donation to their organization!
“I am touched by the support of Tradition Companies and Robert Thomas Homes,” HopeKids’ President, Josh Taylor said. “This gift helps more than 1,000 families battling cancer or other life-threatening conditions by keeping them focused on the future, looking forward to the next fun event around the corner.” It was an exciting journey, and we are so happy to be partnered with HopeKids to help support local families.
The proceeds from this year’s sale will continue the use of the HopeSuite at the Xcel Energy Center. Since 2015, the HopeSuite has helped build a support community among hundreds of Minnesota families.
